Microcapsules containing Cinnamon essential oil

01. Product description

Dry microcapsules containing cinnamon essential oil, obtained from the cortex of the Cinnamomum zeylanicum plant, which allow a slow release of the active ingredient and the formulation of solid oral forms (hard capsules, dispersible single-dose sachets) while keeping intact the therapeutic properties of the active ingredient. The dimensions of the microcapsules are between 100 and 600 μm, with an oil content of up to 85%.

02. General information

The main ingredient that characterizes cinnamon essential oil depends on the part of the plant from which it is extracted: cortex or leaf. The essential oil extracted from the cortex, in particular, contains cinnamaldehyde, eugenol and linalool. Both types have strong antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and carminative properties. Some studies also show the ability of this oil to lower blood sugar levels and to have positive effects on insulin release. [1]
