Microcapsules containing Oregano essential oil

Microcapsules containing essential oil obtained from the leaves and flowers of the Origanum Vulgare plant. The microencapsulated formula preserves the countless beneficial properties of the phytotherapeutic constituents of oregano oil. The microcapsules, specifically made to allow the formulation of solid oral forms (hard capsules, single-dose dispersible sachets) have dimensions included between 150 and 600 μm, with an oil content of up to 85%.

Oregano oil consists mainly of monoterpenes and phenols, in particular carvacrol ^[1] and thymol. It is a natural antibiotic with antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. It also boasts antispasmodic, antiseptic, vermifuge, calming, analgesic and expectorant properties.
