Microcapsules containing Sweet Fennel essential oil

Dry microcapsules obtained by coacervation containing sweet fennel essential oil, obtained from the fruits of the Foeniculum vulgare var dulce plant. The microencapsulated formula allows a slow release of the oil, for a prolonged beneficial effect, and is indicated for the formulation of solid oral forms (hard capsules, dispersible single-dose sachets). The size of the capsules is between 100 and 600 μm, with an oil content of up to 85%.

Sweet fennel essential oil counts several phytotherapeutic properties, especially owing to its main component: anethole (trans-anethole). This substance has digestive and carminative properties [1] and, in the gastro-resistant formulation, offers a targeted action at the enteric level. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and purifying properties [2] [3].
