In fact, fish oil, when microencapsulated, allows you to take advantage of the benefits of Omega 3 essential fatty acids in innovative dosage forms as, thanks to this technique, it has become possible to create microcapsules containing up to85% fish oil, with an EPA/DHA fatty acid concentration of 55%.

Fish oil microcapsules are simple to produce and have high formulation versatility. They are actually made to allow the development of solid oral forms such as hard capsules and dispersible single-dose sachets. In addition, microencapsulated fish oil can be used as a source of Omega 3 in beverages and powdered foods thanks to its excellent dispersibility in water and an excellent stability over time thanks to the membrane that preserves the oil and protects it from oxidation. This allows for an easy intake of Omega 3 for consumers and promotes the assimilation of the product in the body.

Fish oil microcapsules developed by IPS have one last important advantage: the masking of taste and smell. It is well known that many patients find it difficult to take fish oil supplements because of its unpleasant taste. Microencapsulation partially masks the flavour of the raw material, covering it with a polymeric membrane with high digestibility. In this way patients can benefit from the properties of Omega 3 without inhibition.
